WILDERNIZZLE

2015

Eayikes campers and staffers traveled from all over California to participate in an outdoor experience where the simpler aspects of life were appreciated and nurtured at Malibu State Creek park.  Eayikes spent the weekend developing leadership skills and building community through the sharing of life experiences, practice of empathic listening, and learning how to better serve their own communities. This year, Wildernizzle focused on reinforcing 3 core values for all Eayikes to deeply reflect on & bring back to their communities.  These 3 core values were:

Pillars of Eayikes

GUILDS

Campers and staffers were divided up into guilds where they created group names & skits, shared about their lives, and bonded over commonalities & differences.  The diverse backgrounds and personalities in each guild allowed for the entire Eayikes community to interact and connect within smaller groups, where everyone learned the power of their own personal story and how valuing it can inspire others to share their own.

CAMP COMMUNITY

All staffers and campers are active participants within the camp community.  Eayikes help setup camp, prepare food, and learn how to positively contribute to the larger community.  The attitudes and contributions to the camp community by both campers and staffers truly create an open and safe environment where all Eayikes feel like they belong.

CAMP GAMES

Camp games are always a great opportunity for everybody to let out their childlike wonder and get silly!  Campers and staffers participate in games that allow all Eayikes to engage and connect through pushing past their comfort-zones, laughter and fun-filled moments.  Games include: Ship To Shore, Name Your Peers, and lots of dancing.

CAMP OLYMPICS

Camp Olympics takes camp to the next level with its campers vs. staffers competition!  In our third edition of Olympeayikes, hosted by special guests, campers and staffers faced off in intense debates, lip singing, and a relay race. Despite the staff team winning the relay and an electric rendition of Vengaboys' "We Like to Party", campers won this time with passionate debating and a spirited performance of Justin Beiber's "Baby", bringing the count to Staffers: 1 / Campers: 2.

NIGHT HIKE

On the second night, Eayikes were split into 3 groups representing the 3 core values. Each group adventured into the unknown where they leaned on one another, discussed what their specific core value meant to them, and shared how they'd bring it into the "real world".
