Eayikes is entering its 9th year! What began as an idea on a piece of paper and a made-up word has manifested into something beyond our imagination, but remains rooted in the initial intentions we had when answering the call to make the world a better place:

A little message for y’all as we begin to plan again and facilitate more opportunities for us to connect and heal. As we begin to have the opportunity to do that more, and we all continue to discover what feels right or good to us at the moment, our most important focus is on holding that space, and getting us all back to feeling belonging, healing and empowerment. We hope to see you at our upcoming events. :)

Some homies thought it might be helpful if I shared a little bit about my experiences thus far going to protests/rallies and engaging in the Black Lives Matter movement here in Los Angeles. Being in attendance at these events introduces the idea of the Power of Proximity - being close to those who are suffering.
